Smile. Why? Because it makes you attractive. It changes your mood. It relieves stress. And it helps you stay positive. *quoted from ittwq*
I would say: smile! Because we are in hospitality industry
I fell in love in this industry. At the very beginning, it was the charms I see, from these people - later I found out called hotelier'.
Seeing these people smile, extend their warmth friendliness when welcoming guests, button up, shining in their beautiful uniform, not to forget outlining beautiful property they work in - - it kind of attracting me to be part of this industry.
So here I am, now part of it and loving every bit of it. Despite having the complaints, having exposed to the real circumstances where I no longer guest but now servicing the guest, seeing this luxurious circumstances from another side of coins, I know exactly how it feels, to be able to smile in all kind of circumstances, definitely not easy.
But, Smile! You are in hospitality industry
In few moments of many days, we may need to fake the smile, because we are paid for that, it's part of the job.
Later I am very grateful, as the smile has transformed to 'an obligatory professional requirement' to 'personal necessity' because it feels good to share a sincere smile and bring other people to smile too.
It's a pride later on, many new acquaintances have associated this 'personal necessity' as an identity for hotelier. They say: 'no wonder, you are a hotelier! The personality shows'
So, Smile from the heart, and be proud to be in this industry
