Along the line, I have experienced and learned my mistake, I did not succed on several assignments because I took the preparation part for granted.
Regret? Of course!
But we can not turn back the time. Once it's done, it's done.
It's all about preparation.
Best output is achieved out of best preparation.
Seeing what happen around, out of regularities, we tend to neglect the preparation.
We aim high, but do not take serious on the preparation.
The kitchen brigade, consider the significantly importance of this factor, even have their own terminology on this: 'mis en plas'.
Seeing the Chef prepare all the ingredients, in a very effective arrangement, amazed me.
This preparation part contribute major part of the success in every beautiful dishes they produce.
Having a very interesting conversation with one of our best team member over my weekend duty, he went : '........ it is about being prepared, mam. Whatever situation we face, the preparation is what counts'
He continued: '........even going to work, you need to be prepared. Prepare to come earlier to avoid unpleasant traffic. Don't let best part slip away because we are not prepared'
Whatever it is. In this industry, be prepared at all times is all what need.
Expecting or forecasting High occupancy, should no longer be nightmare once we are prepared. On Staffing, on equipment.
Such situation would even challenge us to prove, to confirm, that best preparation simply turns our fear to 'can do attitude'
I threw a big grin, and wish, everyone in our big team does their part, starting with excellent preparation.

The actual performance is actually just a tip of an iceberg. What other people (including managers or staff) see out of a performance is the tip - known as result. Very seldom these people see the bottom part of the process which in fact, almost one third of it is preparation.
Preparation is crucial aspect of successful tasks, without proper preparation your tip - the result will most likely end up misserable.
